WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

Join artist Barbara Krans Jenkins and learn how to use her "Burnishing Technique" to render your pets or other animal art with colored pencils. This convenient, expressive, versatile, dry painting medium is really growing in popularity! You'll also gain a deeper understanding of composition, pick up tips for special effects and forworking with photographic references. Through some exercises, we will learn to see deeper into animal eyes then we have in the past, and render what we see on paper. We'll also get tipd from exercises on how to render their coats in a convincing manner. example

  1. Field Sketch book (5.5" x 8.5", Canson, black side bound hard cover, best)
  2. Sheet Vellum Bristol(or tablet, if you wish)
  3. Any brand mechanical pencil with a fine lead

Weather permitting, we'll even work "En Plein Aire" in the beautiful, near-by Cuyahoga Valley National Park some of the time to properly absorb the glorious Fall colors of northeastern Ohio!
